My New Favorite
Who is Lykke Li?
Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson (born 18 March 1986), is a Swedish singer-songwriter. Her music often blends elements of pop, indie rock and electronic; various instruments can also be found in her songs, including violins, synthesizers, tambourines, trumpets, saxophones and cellos. She has appeared on Swedish musician Kleerup's self titled album, contributing vocals to the track "Until We Bleed". She also worked with Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp on their 2009 album Junior, contributing vocals to "Miss It So Much" and "Were You Ever Wanted". A remixed version of her song "I'm Good, I'm Gone" was featured in the 2009 horror film Sorority Row. In September 2010, she was announced as the official face of the Levi's Curve ID Collection, alongside Pixie Geldof and Miss Nine. Lykke Li represents todays musical genre. In my opinion she's very talented artist, her music has a pleasant touch of uniqueness and she can make you dance all night long, so great she is. We'll hear from Lykke Li more, over and over again. Can't wait.
Mr. Right
I borrowed this pic from The Sartorialists blog. It's taken from Custom National show in Milan. Why particularly this photo? Because man in it represents, personally for me, all the must have attributes of Mr.Right: cute dog, gorgeous strong face, dark messy rock'n'roll hear, simple but so perfect outfit - black T and used jeans and of course - tanned fabulous arms. No more no less needed. I'm sold.
The Godfather
The one thing I've been doing this two past weeks, besides working, is pilates. The exercises get you absolutely addicted at no time. I started practice pilates about five years ago, had some longer and shorter pauses in between and now once again I found my addiction. In pilates there's no final end goal but a journey through increased body awareness, control, mobility and strength. One time someone told me that once you pass a 100 classes, you get a new perfect body. Hell yeah! If not a new, I'm quite used to mine, then a perfect will do!
So Joseph Pilates believed that all movement originated from the abdominal area and was therefore the ideal place to start a corrective or conditioning program. This way of thinking was ahead of his time. Only recently researchers have been able to identify that abdominal contraction precedes limb movement in healthy subjects.
Pilates is not as easy as you may think. It's a low impact exercise using mainly body weight to increase strength. If you possess patience and body strength, want fast results and a feeling of wellness pilates may perhaps be a sport for you.
Summer feet in summer heels
Walking through the shopping street today one of my sandals broke. That's why I was obligated to buy this honeys. Blue leather straps with straw wedge got me smiling. Very irresistible Picasso motive within about 8 cm heels.Gotta love art!
Finnish Midsummer
I really miss Finland today. Especially the nature and my midsummer celebrating friends. You see this weekend we celebrate the summer solstice. In folk magic, midsummer is a very potent night and the time for many small rituals, mostly for youngsters seeking suitors and fertility. Just kidding, not only youngster, practically everyone accompanied by intoxication and overeating. This year I would have appreciated exchanging the city for the countryside. I could give quite a lot right now for being at my friends countryside, sitting in a sauna, swimming in the lake, having a makkara and drinking a karjala. Eastern Europe heat is really nothing compared to Nordic exotica at this moment. Aww...
Instead of drunken Finnish songs
Approximately 200 meters from my house there's a huge stage blocking a hill tunnel. It's a free open air concert with different kind of artists, mostly gypsys though. They perform their typical gypsy ceremony of dancing, giving the audience a blast time. Chain bridge is surrounded by small cottages and stands offering people Hungarian and gypsy foods and drinks. People are gathering for some beers while listening to gypsy sounds. It's not as bad as I imagined. Yesterday night I fell a sleep humming a gypsy song. Well I girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. This year is already "special" so I can as well get a special midsummer celebration. By the way two times today I was asked by foreigners for direction. Do I look like a Hungarian? What an insult. I may as well put on my gypsy skirt, go dancing with the free souled ones and maybe be taken for a gypsy. Anything as long it's not Hungarian.
Glad Midsommar!
Hyvää Juhannusta!
Give way for the gypsy carnival!
