COLOURS!

Bed & Breakfast establishment above is my current home for 2 weeks. My room is the smallest one I've ever seen. It's arctic cold but it has wireless and an enormous bed. For now I'm secured.

Christmas decorations

Waterfall in the backyard. What do you have in your backyard?

Holy Cow! Christmas decoration Art Deco style.

Seagulls. Millions of seagulls. It's like in Helsinki, except  these ones don't snatch pizzas out of your hands, only fish&chips.

Sun doesn't only shine on TV, it DOES SHINE IN CORK TOO!!!

I adore the colorfulness in the city buildings. Otherwise, I guess, everything would be 100 different shades of Grey.

A little bit of nature too. And River Lee.

YELLOW!!!

Catching the LIGHT. The fluffy thing is Ireland's national  flower ;)!

In between Modernism you can see a little bit of Gothic

Lovely colours once again. BTW, there's no zebras in the city. Good luck crossing the roads, never mind the reversed traffic. Which way to look first again?

I like the architectural construction of the house

More houses and River Lee. Just so you get the picture of the city.

Now, best for last. I have already been living in Cork for two weeks. Time simply flies. Today I became a legal alien. I finally received my social security number aka PPS number. This means I am entitled to receive salary, open a bank account, and I do officially exist on papers too. Hurray!

Work. Apple is treating me very well. Two weeks of head spinning practice, and I already got one t-shirt, one hoodie, a lot of free food and an addiction for Apple products. Hurray!

Pub life. I went on my own to a pub on Saturday night. After one pint of Bulmer's I was done, finished, kaput. Couldn't resist the thought of a whole night sleep. I admit I need more practice. I guess I will be getting a lot of it in the future. Hurray!

Can't wait to move in to the house on Mary Street. I'll be sharing a whole house with Wendy and Yann. The house contains of 3 separate bedrooms, 3 toilets, enormous kitchen, living room and a garden, not to forget the gate. How nice is that? NICE!!!! Hurray!

That's all for tonight folks!

Puss och Kram mina kära! Saknar många av er! Speciellt dig, dig och dig!
Love,
Jules

Cobh

First weekend in Cork
Road trip to Cobh, seaport village and last stop of Titanic
Respect to the past

Simple and stylish

Ahh, see that, it's the sea!

Beautiful coastline

White fish heaven

Like in an aquarium

Museum of fish. Theme of the month is knitted hand art.

Middle of November and the palm trees are green

It's unbelievable how close to the Atlantic Ocean Cork really is. What you can see on the picture is actually the Celtic Sea. In about 5 months I will finally start taking surfing classes!!! It's quite hard to imagine that within the Cork county there's a lot of surfing schools. How grand isn't that?

Picturesque village Cobh

 Mmm...Murphy's
In a weeks time I had only two Murphy's. So I'm keeping the self-control on.
That's all for today folks.
Enjoy Sunday!

I'm alive!

Whoa! I have survived the first week in Cork, Ireland. Feeling overwhelmed with mostly everything. Or how the saying goes down here: I'm doing grand! And I have to say it out loud: the Irish hospitality is fantastic.

Some small facts
  • If you wonder about the battle between Guinness and Murphy's - Murphy's is the winner! Damn that beer is delicious.
  • It does rain a lot here. Sometimes the rain stops for 10 minutes. My shoes are never dry.
  • The department store Brown Thomas sells Acne and YSL. HALLELUJAH!
  • Irish kitchen is not only about fish and chips. You can also get fresh fish, salads, soups and dark bread. Finally normal food to eat.
  • I have gone through hell finding a place to live. Yet, I'm kind a hobo, but not for long.
  • One apartment can literally be 3 floors. If you're claustrophobic and moving to Cork. Get help before relocating.
  • My colleague told me that I'm already pronouncing some words with an Irish accent. Hey, I'm a fast learner.
  • The weather is the main thing to talk about :)!
  • So far so good and I'm loving it! No regrets what so ever.
  • And the best for last: Apple, Apple & Apple!

More update coming up. Keep tight.

PS. Heidi and the Aussie lads - Thank you all for the great weekend. Without you my first expression of Cork wouldn't have been this wonderful. X

8PM to 5AM

      Saturday Night Fever Beaver

Värdinnan - A -

Tuffa armékillar rökte cigarrer med körsbärssmak!?!
Tydligen föll den i smaken även för A.
Körsbärscigarrer känns nästan som en efterrätt.

Red Room Wine - Red Room Wine

Happy Happy Joy O hoy!
Ett gott skratt...och livet ler!

Happy Happy Joy O boy!
Bra typer. Superb kväll!

Yours truly and The Joker

Filmens original soundtrack Kavinsky - "Nightcall" spelas nonstop i öronen. Vilket kan givetvis uppfattas som enformigt. Men icke. Det är nämligen så att det finns tusen olika mixar av låten, ingen mix är den andre lik (ok, bara lite då). Sen har Kavinsky många andra bra låtar också. Ni som inte ännu sett "Drive" - se den NU!

PS. Ryan Gosling är i mina ögon perfektion. What a gorgeous creation. Hans rollprestation i "Drive" är briljant.
Man, what a man!

PPS. 6 days 2 departure.
Awww!

En annan goding från "Drive"
