More of Cork and Sunday thoughts

In a catholic nation there's a lot of churches

The decline and fall of the Roman Cork Empire

When speaking of decline and fall. Saturday night was a cinema night, to be more precise - "Haywire." What a kick-ass movie! Steven Soderbergh actually made it only for the lead actress (well  for some cash dollars too), who happens to be a champion of mixed martial arts.Gina Carano as Mallory Kane, is a thick skinned lady. She swiped and fought men like Antonio Banderas, Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum and Ewan McGregor, and of course - won them all. Personally, I liked the authentic approach most of all. Gina showed the audience how a real woman fights, and looks for that matter. Her thighs and shoulders are as muscular as they should be if you're world champion of MMA. No skinny models could ever do the things she did. Gina is a living Modesty Blaise. Hell yeah!

Less ordinary? Seriously? I mean really?

I strongly disapprove. Freedom of speech my ass, go and get a job

These poor bastards have been living in tents for the last 99 days. And for what? For the sake of protest against world economy, politics, abuse? Please, enough already. They can't make the world a better place simply by living in tents, begging money for food and by the unselfish act for the sake of others less privileged. Bullshit. They chuckle every time they feel the fake complaisance.

Royal Blue or Electric as we know it

In the middle of winters second month, January, the weather is sunny, warm and windy. It's pretty much as the beginning of spring season in the Nordics. It's no doubt my warmest winter so far. Ladies still wear ballerinas and no stockings whatsoever. Have to admit, though I miss snow, this is not to bad.

My bridge-crossing view got less breathtaking since my move from Budapest

My Sunday is so far quite pleasant. Waking up before the others, I enjoyed oatmeal porridge of my special recipe, compulsory berocca and coffee. Refilled by energy, I went for a long walk, taking snapshots of everything and nothing. Feeling slightly asocial, I sneaked out to Nosh for lunch and free wi-fi. Sunday is all about doing things you like.

We finally got the Internet connection installed. The modem should be delivered on Tuesday. And then, my friends, I'll be returning to year 2012.

The local pub - Sober lane

Three monkeys are just around the corner. Small from outside and surprisingly ample inside. And the beer serving cutie is a definite plus.

Today the presidential election is held in Finland. I feel like a disloyal patriot for not being able to vote. I would have to go to Dublin for that, and unfortunately I miscalculated the Dublin trip by one week. I'm actually going next weekend but then it's too late. However, my vote goes to the one and only - Sauli Niinistö.

Grr. Waiter just announced that they are closing.
Gotta go.
Alright, later guys.
Happy Sunday to you all.
